Former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Brad Friedel has hailed the Gunners for the faith they invested in manager Mikel Arteta despite some poor run of games in recent times. Friedel was speaking on SkySports where he made his mind known that even though it was not an easy decision, kudos to the Arsenal board for encouraging Arteta by giving him more time and chance to show what he is capable of.
Abramovic decided it was time to part ways with former manager Frank Lampard after a run of poor results saw the team slip to the tenth position in the Premier League table even after spending over £2oo million on the recruitment of new players in the summer. Friedel says although Chelsea were facing a difficult period after suffering defeats upon defeats under Lampard, more time should have been given to the club's former midfielder for him to turn things around but the reverse was the case.
Also, Friedel has lauded Arsenal's decision to sign young and talented Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard who joined the Gunners from Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid on loan till the end of the season before the closure of last month's transfer window. The former goalkeeper believes that Odegaard is a remarkable signing and will definitely come good at the Emirates, especially if he is given more time to show his quality.
The attacking midfielder joined Arsenal after it became clear to him that he won't be making Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane's first team as regularly as he would want and decided to go out in search of more game time.
