FRIEDEL REVEALS BEST PREMIER LEAGUE GOALKEEPER

Ex-United States of America international Brad Friedel has revealed the best shot stopper in the Premier League. Brad Friedel named thebest Premier League goalkeeper in an interview monitored by British publication Metro.

According to him, Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is the best shot stopper in the Premier League as he picked the Senegalese international star ahead of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker, Manchester United shot stopper David De Gea and Manchester City goalkeeper EdersonMoraes.

Brad Friedel also touched on Mendy being the most underrated goalkeeper and that the reason is that the Senegalese shot stopper was relatively unknown when he came to the Premier League at the start of last season. European champions Chelsea paid around £24m to sign Mendy from French Ligue 1 club Rennes. In his first season in the Premier League, Mendy kept 16 clean sheets in 31 games as he helped the Blues to secure a top-four spot at the end of the season.
Mendy was a key player for Chelsea on the way to winning the Champions League title last season. The Senegalese international was in the Chelsea goal for the final which ended in a slim victory over Premier League rivals Manchester City as masterminded by manager Thomas Tuchel.
Chelsea made a big decision to sack club legend Frank Lampard as their manager at the start of the year and appoint German tacticianTuchel in his place.
In addition to finishing in the top four spots on the Premier League, Tuchel also led the Blues to the FA Cup final and the Champions League final. Belgian international YouriTielemans scored the only goal of the game as Leicester City beat Chelsea 1-0 to win the FA Cup title for the first time in their history. For the Champions League final, German attacker Kai Havertzscored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Manchester City.
